Rules
Root Digital league
Root Digital League is a fun and informal way to play Root using the digital app. League games are highly competitive and entertaining, organized over the length of an established season, and results are reported and tracked.
GAME SETUP
- Season M01 begins January 1 at 12:00 am (UTC) and continues until March 31, 11:59p (UTC).
- You may join league at any time, but you must register at https://rootleague.pliskin.dev/auth/register/ first.
- All league games must be played with AdSet including all faction expansions (if you don’t own all the available expansions, you will not be able to create league games, but you can still join them).
- Select the appropriate icon in the #role-menus channel LFG selector to get the league LFG role.
- Use -lfg rootdigleague [fun/unique game name, live/async, deck, clearings, 2d VB, etc.] command in #root-lfg channel to organize games and automatically ping the league LFG role.
- When the table is full, click the check mark icon and the bot will automatically create a post with your game details in the league forum channel, assign the “game” tag, and ping the 4 subscribed players to it.
- Use -rand map in the game play post for a random map selection.
- Game hosts should post draft selection as well as turn order in the game post (we are tracking this data).
MARAUDERS ERA RULES
- Please see the FAQ for details on league registration requirements and guidance.
- Games can be either live or async, but must include 4 players.
- All games must be played with Advanced Setup (AdSet).
- Game host is free to determine whether the possibility of a 2d vagabond is included in the draft.
- Maps must be randomly selected, but hosts are free to choose their preferred deck (standard or E&P) and clearing distribution (fixed or random).
- All game business including table talk must take place within the game thread in #root-digital-league channel or inapp chat (no DMs).
- Games are forfeit (DQ) if any player is replaced by AI.
- NEW THIS SEASON: Two-way coalitions are allowed only with the advance consent of the coalitioned partner, three-way coalitions are banned.
- League scores are recorded as 1=win, .5=coalition win, 0=loss.
- Only players that log at least 20 games over the season qualify for leaderboard and award consideration.
- Subscribe to #root-digital-league notifications to find out more and share ideas with the Digital League community.
GAME RESULTS AND DATA
Results are posted (traditionally by the winner):
1) As a victory screen capture to game thread in #root-digital-league (you will need to copy this Discord link into the following form)
2) In the Root Digital League Match Registration Form at: https://rootleague.pliskin.dev/match/register
DISQUALIFICATION
There have always been bugs and exploiting them is part of digital life. However, per RDL tradition, if a bug is truly gamebreaking and the other players agree, the game can be abandoned. If the win was indisputably yours (in the final round only) and your competitors agree, you can log the win.
Players can be disqualified from league play if they:
- Time out or resign intentionally
- Participate in private/side chats about game strategy
- Intentionally break any rule in order to void a game or register a voided game
- Do not observe the Woodland Warriors Discord community guidelines at #server-rules
Players may report these issues at: https://bit.ly/rdl-dq.
COMMENTS & FEEDBACK
Any comments/feedback should be posted to the main discord League channel, so they can be discussed by the league and potentially incorporated into the following season.
