LFG Glossary

When games are posted in the rdl-lfg channel, the community will often use abbreviations when posting games. This page will help you get started in learning what each of them mean!

Game Modes

  • Async: Asynchronous Game. players have 3 days to sign-in and take their turns.
  • Live: Live Game. Players are all present in the game simultaneously, and are playing with the 5-minute turn timer active.
  • Live NT: Live Game No Timer. Players are all present in the game simultaneously, and are not playing with the timer active, allowing for more time per turn.
  • Live -> Async: A live game without a timer that will eventually transition into asynchronous play after a few turns
    • Live Draft is a variant of this, where all players are present in the game for the draft and setup phase, but the rest of the game is played asynchronously
    • Fast Start/Fast Lobby are also used similarly to Live Draft

Game Settings

  • RM: Random Map. The map is chosen randomly using “-rand map” when the lobby is created
  • Base/Standard/B: The standard deck in the base game will be used
  • EP/E&P/ENP: The exiles and partisans deck will be used (from the DLC)
  • RC: Random Clearings. The game board’s clearings will be assigned randomly
  • FC: Fixed Clearings. The game board’s clearings will be set as the default (similar to Autumn)
  • 1VB/2VB: The maximum number of Vagabonds that will be allowed to be drafted in the game
    • Note that 2VB doesn’t guarantee 2 Vagabonds will be present, only that there is a chance of 2 Vagabonds being present
  • LM/L: Landmarks. Landmarks will be present in this game (from the DLC)
    • Usually these will be accompanied by the number of landmarks, such as 1LM or 2LM
    • Unless a specific landmark is specified (or banned), usually “LM” means that the landmark selection will be random
  • H: Hirelings. Hirelings will be present in this game (from the DLC)

Lobby Settings:

  • VC: Voice Chat. The host is going to have the group use voice chat rather than text chat. Game setup information such as the draft and faction assignments will still be captured in the lobby.
  • 4X4: The host is going to have the four players create 4 asynchronous lobbies, with each of the four players hosting a game for the others to join
    • This creates 4 asynchronous games with the same players, which can be great if one is looking to increase their game count
  • Fast Start/Fast Lobby: The host would like to have the game setup and draft to take place with all players present, but the rest of the game is played asynchronously
  • Async Start/Setup: The host will start the lobby at a future time. Once the host creates the game in-app, players will have 12 hours to join the game
